Ouray’s many hot springs have been a natural draw for the bone-weary for centuries. The town’s hot springs have bubbled up along the Uncompahgre River 和 from underground fissures for thous和s of years 和 range in temperature from 80 to 150 degrees. Ouray is located along a large geological lift at the head of the Uncompahgre Valley 和 the pressure 和 heat from this activity resulted in a series of clean 和 odorless hot springs. The same geologic forces that made the town rich in minerals 和 ore also produced some of the largest 和 most pleasant hot springs in the United States.

The Ute Indians who settled the Uncompahgre Valley considered the mineral springs sacred 和 healing, 其他部落则长途跋涉数日来参观泉水. 在19世纪70年代, prospectors 和 miners moved into the San Juan Mountains 和 founded the 乌拉尔市 in 1876. The demolition 和 renovation of the pool facility began in October 2016 和 was completed in 2017. This new pool facility will continue to create lasting memories for future generations to come.
